The Botswana Police Air Support selected the Enstrom 480B following a lengthy and detailed tender and acquisition process. The 480B safety, power and value with light agility at the controls, combined with low maintenance, reliability and operating costs, so as to ensure consistent, cost effective and uninterrupted aerial support are the main factors for the selection of the Enstrom 480B. “We believe the Enstrom 480B will be a great addition to the Botswana Police fleet.” said Dennis Martin, Director of Sales and Marketing. “We are looking forward to a long relationship with them.”
Menominee MI, September 24,2019 – For the next four weeks, there will be a total of 36 pilots and mechanics visiting Enstrom in Menominee to become factory trained to fly and support Enstrom 480B turbine helicopters owned by the Royal Thai Army. They will be split into two groups, each staying 2 weeks at a time.
“The pilot and mechanic training are crucial to the success any program,” said Bayard duPont, Enstrom Technical Fellow and Chief Flight Instructor. “We welcome this latest group with open arms. It’s about building relationships, getting to know the people at the factory, and feeling comfortable asking us when questions arise.”
While here, the group is assisted by the Enstrom Representative in Thailand, M-Landarch. They were able to coordinate this trip with the acceptance and delivery of their latest order. “The timing worked out well. We are able to support our customers and handle the acceptance of our 6 turbine training helicopters.” said Thana Dharapak of M-Landarch. The helicopters will be used for training in Menominee prior to shipping them to Thailand. Thana added “It is always a pleasure to do business with Enstrom and the great people in Menominee, MI.”
“Enstrom has a long history in Canada,” commented Enstrom’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Dennis Martin. “A number of our customers have expressed a desire to operate 480B’s in Canada and this new validation will allow them to do so under Canadian registration.” Enstrom is already in working with their first launch customer in Canada and expects the market to open quickly from there. “With its legendary toughness, fully articulated rotor head, and low operating costs, we feel the 480B is a natural in the demanding Canadian environment. Our piston aircraft have proved their worth there for years and we look forward to giving turbine customers a new, versatile option.”
